Contemplate the depth of the sky made with acylic on linen. I paint using thin layers of acrylic with the canvas laying down on the floor, because for me it is a comfortable way of working. The linen is sealed with gesso, which is a kind of glue, to protect the fabric from the painting and the elements. It is sand and then I add the gold leaf and the paint.
The sky is where it all starts. It is always there for everyone to see. To go outside and feel its light on my eyes and the fresh air filling my lungs. A reminder of taking a moment for myself. To think about the size of Earth. And helping me put everything into perspective, giving things its right size. Getting clarity just by looking up at the light that touches our atmosphere. It is not a wall, is it color we can go though.
